Mumbai have finally managed to win a game in the Indian T20 league 2022. The 44th match of this edition saw them beat Rajasthan by five wickets. For the first time in this season, the five-time champions were clinical.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Mumbai's bowlers had an uphill task as Rajasthan's top-order has been in sensational form. However, they were good with the new ball as they barely bowled any bad deliveries. Devdutt Padikkal was dismissed in the fifth over for 15. However, Jos Buttler continued his good form, and looked superb during this game as well.

He scored yet another half-century. As a matter of fact, he was the only Rajasthan batter who looked relatively comfortable. He scored 67 runs from 52 balls. This included five fours and four sixes. As for the other batters from the Sanju Samson-led side, none of them were really able to get to a big score.

They lost wickets at regular intervals. Ravichandran Ashwin played a handy cameo towards the end as he scored a nine-ball 21. This propelled the Rajasthan-based franchise to score 158-6 in the first innings. As far as Mumbai's bowlers are concerned, Riley Meredith was right on the money as he only gave 24 runs in his four overs, and also picked two wickets.

During the second innings, Ishan Kishan hit some eye-pleasing shots early on. However, their skipper Rohit Sharma's bad form continued as he had to depart after scoring just two runs. Kishan couldn't capitalize on his start as he too had to return to the pavilion after scoring an 18-ball 26. Just when the Rajasthan fans thought that their team could further control the flow of runs, Suryakumar Yadav had other plans.

He played a scintillating knock, and effortlessly played some elegant shots. Sanju Samson's decision to give Daryl Mitchell the ball during the seventh over was questionable, to say the least. While he gave 21 runs in the over, it completely shifted the momentum towards Mumbai.

After scoring a 39-ball 51, SKY was dismissed in the 15th over. Tilak Varma was quick to follow him as he perished two balls later. However, Tim David ensured that there were no further hiccups as he saw his team though. At the end, Mumbai chased their target with four balls to spare. Thus this is Rajasthan's third loss in nine games. Several Twitter users gave their opinion on the game.
