Kuldeep Sen managed to grab the headlines as he defended 15 runs in the final over against Lucknow. The fact that he bowled such a great penultimate over for his side on his debut speaks volumes of his ability. Several pundits and experts were mighty impressed with his temperament.
However, not many knew about Sen until his name appeared in Rajasthan's playing XI for their clash against the KL Rahul-led side. The talented pacer had replaced Navdeep Saini in the XI. Thus, this impressive debut has ensured that Sen gets a consistent run in the XI for the Rajasthan-based franchise. He made his first-class debut for Madhya Pradesh in 2018.
In the same year, he picked his maiden fifer against Punjab and finished with seven wickets in that match. When it comes to the shortest format of the game, the 25-year-old made his T20 debut against Mumbai in 2019. It was in Indore. However, he was superb during the Syed Mushtaq Ali 2021-22 as he picked five wickets in four games.
His economy rate was on the lower side as well (7.75). Sen has picked 13 wickets in 19 T20 wickets so far in his career. He has also picked four wickets in List A cricket. Several experts have appreciated him for his ability to bowl fast.
As far as his personal life is concerned, Sen's father worked as a barber. Thus, he comes from a humble background. The bowler has already showcased his abilities to the world. It will be exciting to see how he performs in the upcoming games of the Indian T20 league 2022. Rajasthan's skipper Sanju Samson also had heaps of praises for him. While mentioning that he saw him nail the wide yorkers in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he explained his decision to give Sen the final over of the second innings.
"Got the feeling that he has done well and he is confident (talking about Kuldeep Sen) to go and execute his wide yorker which he has been working in the off season. Saw him in Syed Mushtaq and he was nailing his wide yorkers," said Sanju Samson in the post-match presentation.
