'What a stunning catch' - Twitter users appreciate Shimron Hetmyer for a blinder in T20I against New Zealand

West Indies and New Zealand are currently playing the three-match T20I series. Both teams played this match at Sabina Park of Kingston in Jamaica.  The hosts’ skipper Nicholas Pooran won the toss and elected to bowl first against New Zealand. Batting first, New Zealand scored 185 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, West Indies could score only 172 runs for the loss of seven wickets in all 20 overs. New Zealand is currently leading the series with a score line of 1-0 in the three-match T20I series.

Apart from this, Shimron Hetmyer amazed everyone with his amazing fielding after taking a stunner near the boundary. The Twitter users went on to appreciate the Caribbean fielder and his efforts.

Batting first, the opening pair of Martin Guptill and wicketkeeper-batter Devon Conway gave a strong start to the Kiwi team. They both made a partnership of 62 runs in 7.3 overs. Devon Conway played the knock of 43 runs alongside 47-run innings from Kane Williamson. These two knocks helped the visitors to reach a total of 185 runs in the 20 overs after losing five wickets.

Speaking of Hetmyer’s catch, then it was the eighth over of the first innings when New Zealand was batting. Martin Guptill played Odean Smith towards the boundary where Hetmyer was fielding. He went on to make a huge jump to catch the ball which left everyone in Sabina Park shocked.

Speaking of the match furthermore, then the New Zealanders gave some early blows to the men in maroon. West Indies lost their five wickets only on the score of 79 runs. Shamarh Brooks and Romario Shepherd were the two only decent scorers. They played knocks 42 runs and 31 runs respectively. But unfortunately, Nicholas Pooran & co couldn’t cross the line and they ended up falling 13 runs short of the target.
