India and Australia locked horns in the second of the three-match series. Both teams played the match at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. Notably, the match was reduced from 20 overs to 8 overs per inning due to the rain and wet outfield. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and asked the visitors to bat first in the rain-affected match.

Batting first, Australia posted a total of 90 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted eight overs. While chasing the target, the Indian team easily crossed the line in 7.2 overs and scored 92 runs for the loss of four wickets to win the match by six wickets.

Speaking about the match, the Australian side couldn’t get a good start there as they lost their first three wickets only on the score of 31 runs. But, the brilliant knocks from senior wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade and Aaron Finch of 43 and 31 runs respectively helped Australia to reach a total of 90 runs in eight overs.

Star all-rounder Axar Patel scalped two wickets for India. While chasing the target, the opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and senior batter KL Rahul provided a good start of 39 runs for the wicket for India. Skipper Rohit Sharma’s swashbuckling knock of 46 runs off just 20 balls with four boundaries and four sixes took India home in 7.2 overs to win the match by six wickets.

Now, both teams will lock horns in the series decider. Gymkhana Ground in Hyderabad will host the third and last match of the series. Currently, India has leveled the series with a score line of 1-1 against Aaron Finch & co.
