'What a chase' - Twitter erupts in joy as Manchester Originals thump London Spirit to seal a place in the finals of The Hundred 2022

Manchester Originals needed a win against Trent Rockets in the eliminator of the Hundred 2022 to make it to the finals. Amid huge expectations and excitement, the team captains made their way into the ground for the toss. It was Eoin Morgan who called it right at the toss and thus, he decided to bat first. The momentum was with the Spirit as they opened with Adam Rossington and Zak Crawley until the former stunned everyone with a duck.

Little did the fans expect the Spirit to get off to such a poor start as Rossington's wicket made way for Ben McDermott. The Spirit fans had some relief as the duo in the middle put on a show and lifted the team. It wasn't enough for the team as Crawley failed to crawl beyond 36 and paved the way for a collapse. Rose Bowl stadium is a tricky one and it did trouble the batters a bit. The fans were not happy with Morgan's decision to bat first as it only backfired.

McDermott, the lucky charm departed for 59 and Dan Lawrance followed him back quickly. The skipper Eoin Morgan did not last more than a ball as he bagged a golden duck. The Spirit batters ended up amassing a total of 140 runs for the loss of seven wickets.
