Trent Rockets have kept their spirits held high to remain at the top two this season and with the next round just around the corner, they marched on once again to face Southern Brave in match 25 of The Hundred 2022. The Rose Bowl stadium hosted the crucial match and the Brave had to clinch a win to remain in the race for the next round.

The Rose Bowls' surface favours bowling most of the time and the dew factor, later on, helps the team that bats second. Being aware of the records, the Brave skipper James Vince elected to field first after calling it right at the toss and put the pressure back on the Rockets' openers right away.

David Malan was the sole guy to keep the hopes of finishing at the top high for his team as the other opener, Alex Hales, never looked like settling down. With the latter returning back for just eight, Kohler-Cadmore tried to join hands with Malan but failed as he walked back after contributing another eight runs to the team's total.

Samit Patel got a start but failed to convert it while skipper Lewis Gregory fell two short of a dozen in thirteen balls that he faced before racing back to the pavilion. Colin Munro bagged a boundary and a six off the ten balls that he faced and contributed a brisk 16 runs for his team which was never going to be enough on a pitch where the teams batting second have the upper hand in clinching the win.

Poor first innings display from Trent Rockets restricted them to only 136 runs in the hundred balls that they faced. Southern Brave, did get off to a poor start with Ireland cricketer, the superstar the other day, Paul Stirling failed to get off to a start. James Vince walked on his path as he bagged a golden duck to make way for the hero Alex Davies.

The latter and Ross Whiteley kept the scoreboard ticking and eventually inched closer to the target each ball before Whiteley perished after contributing 30 runs to the team. Tim David produced a brisk finish and eventually helped the Brave cross the line with five balls spare and six wickets in the bag.
