'Welcome back, Maxwell' - Twitter stunned by Glenn Maxwell's run out

Bangalore have been superb in the Indian T20 league 2022 so far. They have won two out of their three games. As for Mumbai, they haven't really been at their best. The Rohit Sharma-led side haven't won a single game in this edition as of now. They have lost their first three games, and are languishing at the bottom of the points table. This led to several people criticizing their performance.

Thus, Bangalore would want to beat Mumbai as the five-time champions aren't at their best. Moreover, they are boosted with the addition of Glenn Maxwell. The Aussie superstar wasn't available for Bangalore's first few games, but played his first match of this edition against the Mumbai-based franchise. Although the Faf du Plessis-led side were fielding first, Maxwell already made his presence felt.

The batting all-rounder produced a superb run out which caught everyone's attention. It was during the fifth ball of the ninth over. Tilak Varma had to depart due to a superhuman effort by Maxwell. The batter tapped the ball in front of the short cover. He then ran for a single, only for Maxwell to showcase his exceptional skills.

The 33-year-old came forward and managed to hit the stumps. The fact that he had just one stump to aim at made the run out even better. Thus, Tilak Varma was dismissed for a duck. Post which, Mumbai continued to lose wickets.

At the end, they got to 151-6 in the first innings. Suryakumar Yadav was simply sensational as he went on to score an unbeaten 68 off 37 balls. However, Maxwell's run out is what set Twitter on fire. Several users appreciated him for his unreal effort. It will be exciting to see if he can back his fielding effort with a good batting performance.
