Former Indian skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli failed once again to perform up to his stature in the ongoing Test series against Bangladesh. He could score only 1 run off 22 balls and fell prey to star Bangla all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the 20th over of India’s second innings.

But apart from his poor run of form with the bat, Kohli attracted the headlines at the end of the day for his altercation with the hosts’ skipper Shakib Al Hasan and spinner Taijul Islam. The incident happened just after the dismissal of Virat Kohli's wicket off Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The 34-year-old went didn’t seem happy with the celebrating style of the opponent batters.

Responding to this, Virat Kohli went on to call opponent captain Shakib Al Hasan and address the concern. The video of the incident is also making rounds on social media after being shared by a user.

Speaking of the current update of the match, the Indian team was 45-4 at the end of the third day’s play having all-rounder Axar Patel and night-watchman Jaydev Unadkat there in the middle. The Indian top-order failed completely against the spin attack of Bangladesh, now the visitors need 100 more runs to win the match with six wickets to spare.

Earlier in the game on the third day, the hosts lost three early wickets only on the score of 51 runs at the start of the day. But later on, young opener Zakir Hasan’s crucial knock of 51 runs followed by a brilliant 73-run half-century by Litton Das helped Bangladesh to post a total of 231 runs posting a target of 145 runs for India in the fourth innings.

Axar Patel ended up as the leading wicket-taker for India in the second innings by scalping three wickets and conceding 68 runs in 19.2 overs. Other than him, Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Siraj also scalped two wickets alongside one scalp each by Umesh Yadav and Jaydev Unadkat.

Notably, the Indian team has to win this match and the series as well by a clean sweep margin to keep their hopes alive in contention for the World Test Championship 2023 Final.
