The recently concluded three-match Test series between India and South Africa saw a lot of heated moments on the field. The first of the three-match ODI series saw yet another intense moment between the Proteas captain Temba Bavuma and Virat Kohli.

Despite no longer being a captain in any format, the fire hasn't seemed to stop for the 33-year-old. As Kohli has had a history of on-field episodes, he added another one on Thursday. This incident occurred during the fourth ball of the 36th over.

While the hosts were batting, the Proteas skipper, who was batting on 78, swatted Yuzvendra Chahal's delivery to short cover. Kohli threw the ball back in a flash, which forced the batter to dodge it. The Proteas batter then turned towards the Indian batter and seemingly questioned the direction of the throw.

This apparently didn't sit well with Kohli as he was then seen walking towards Bavuma. Although the conversation wasn't audible, their chat did seem livid to an extent. The South African captain didn't seem to engage much and thus, the situation automatically cooled down.

After which, Bavuma went on to score an amazing 110, which propelled the hosts to 296. He and Rassie van der Dussen shared a 206-run stand too. The visitors then failed to chase the total in the second innings, and fell short by 31 runs. Thus, the 31-year-old was really pleased with his team's performance.

"We played close to a perfect game, that's quite hard in 50-over cricket. We can take a lot of confidence. I struggled throughout the innings, Rassie seemed like batting on another wicket. That partnership was the decider. I tried to partner him as much as I could. Another good debut for him (Jansen), we feel he can take wickets with the new ball. He's growing from strength to strength and it's nice to see," said Temba Bavuma during the post-match presentation.
