Despite not being utterly poor, Kohli hasn't really been at his best of late. He has set his standards so high that people start questioning him after a few failures.

To add salt to the wounds, under his leadership, the Asian side went on to lose the three-match Test series to South Africa by 1-2. Moreover, a day after losing the series, the 33-year-old stepped down as India's Test captain. A few months earlier, he had quit the T20I captaincy.

Later, he was axed as the ODI captain, as BCCI appointed Rohit Sharma as India's new captain in the 50-over format. Thus, Kohli will be keen to get on the field and make a statement. It is to be noted that the last time these two teams played a bilateral one-day series, the batting maestro was scoring runs for fun.

In the six-match ODI series, he scored three hundreds. This inhuman effort ensured that he went on to win the Player of the Series award. Thus, his fans expect the same from him this time around as well. Several of his fans started betting over the possibility of him scoring a hundred in the first ODI against the Proteas.

Many fans took to Twitter to say that if Kohli does get to a hundred, then they will pay 100 rupees to whosoever likes and retweets their Tweet. Thus, this resulted in their Tweets instantly getting viral. On seeing some fans bet on the Indian batter, many other cricket fans joined the party and Tweeted the same.
