The Indian women’s team impressed the entire cricketing fraternity with an emphatic title win in the Women’s Asia Cup 2022. Indian girls completely outmuscled the Sri Lankan team in the final of the tournament. Renuka Singh was the shine of the moment as she won the ‘player of the match award for her excellent performance in the match.

Although, apart from her brilliance in the match, Renuka was also involved in a heartfelt moment while she was supposed to collect her award in the post-match presentations. The video of this incident has gone viral on social media.

It all happened when Renuka happened to ask for a translator as the conversation was there to be in English. But her fellow teammates encouraged her and boosted her confidence which later assured Renuka to go alone for the post-match conversation.

Talking about her performance in the match, Renuka crumbled the Sri Lankan innings scalping three wickets by conceding just five runs in a spell of three overs with one maiden over to her name.

Renuka Singh also expressed her feelings while talking about the performance in the post-match presentation.

"Very happy because the last few games I didn't bowl well. I practiced with my coach and the staff, and they really helped me get back my rhythm. Just focussed on my basics and got success. My whole team supported me really well, and credit should go to my captain, coach, and staff," said Renuka.

Harmanpreet & co outplayed the Sri Lankan team by a massive margin of eight wickets in the one-sided affair at Sylhet International Stadium in Sylhet. Indian bowlers restricted the entire Sri Lankan inning only on the score of 65 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Indian team comfortably chased down the target only in 8.3 overs with the help of a swashbuckling knock of 51 runs off just 25 balls from star opener Smriti Mandhana. She smashed six boundaries and three sixes in her brilliant knock. Eventually, the Indian women’s team lifted the Asia Cup title for the seventh time.
