Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) took on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the ongoing IPL on 13 May 2023. However, the home side opted to bat first after winning the toss and scored 182 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. But, a controversy arose during the 19th over a controversial no-ball decision from the third umpire.
The third delivery of that over was called a no-ball due to height by the on-field umpire. But, LSG reviewed it, and the third umpire overturned the decision to a no-ball. But, the SRH fans were not happy and the game got paused. Later, Cricbuzz confirmed that fans threw some nuts and bolts at the LSG dugout. They even chat ‘Kohli, Kohli’ while pointing toward the away team’s dugout.

"Disappointed, that's not what you expect from the home crowd.” - Heinrich Klaasen
It seemed that the SRH crowd used the ‘Kohli, Kohli’ chant due to the ugly bust-up Kohli had with Gautam Gambhir and Naveen-ul-Haq during the LSG vs RCB clash. However, it was not a pleasant sight in a game of cricket where fans threw something at a team’s dugout.
Match officials were forced to pause the match and police also came out to control the situation. Regarding that, the former Kiwi player, Simon Doull was on the air and he said: "It's disappointing what they have done. Won't go into details about it. But it's really disappointing what they have done."
After the innings, SRH’s Heinrich Klaasen also criticised both the crowd and the umpiring. "Disappointed, that's not what you expect from the home crowd. Broke our momentum as well. Not so great umpiring either, hope they stay consistent,” he said. However, the match got resumed and SRH scored 182 runs for six wickets. Heinrich Klaasen and Abdul Samad stitched a partnership of 58 runs for the sixth wicket. Klaasen scored 47 runs off 29 balls while Samad remained not out on 37* runs off 25 balls.
