On 28 June 2023, Tiruppur Tamizhans took on Dindigul Dragons in the 20th match of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Cricket League (TNPL). Eventually, the Dragons won the match by eight wickets. But, during their innings, an attempt to run out at the non-striker end took place and that video went viral.

Speaking of it, the incident took place during the eighth over when Alliraj Karuppusamy was bowing. On the third delivery, he suddenly stopped during his runup and ran Shivam Singh out at the non-striker end. Then, he appealed to the umpire and he went to the third umpire for a decision.

Then, replays showed that the batter showed presence of mind and he never left the crease. So, united gave not out to him and he survived the cheeky dismissal. Speaking of the match, the Dragons won the toss and opted to bowl first. While batting first, the Tamizhans scored 173 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Sai Kishore was the highest scorer as he scored 45 runs off 35 balls, including four fours and three sixes. Along with him, Vijay Shankar scored 43 runs off 27 balls, Tushar Raheja scored 30 runs off 22 balls, and Balchander Anirudh scored 22 runs off 12 balls. 

Rajendran Vivek also played a cameo of 17* runs off eight balls. For the Dragons, only Saravana Kumar and Aushik Srinivas took one wicket each. During the chase, the Dragons lost two wickets for 69 runs in 8.2 overs. But, then, Shivam Singh and Adithya Ganesh put up an unbeaten partnership of 105* runs and won the game in just 18.3 overs. Shivam won the Player of the Match award for scoring 74* runs off 57 balls, including 11 fours. Ganesh also scored 59* runs off 30 balls, including five fours and three sixes. This was their fourth win of the tournament and now, they are sitting in the third position with eight points in five games. While the Tamizhans are now in the sixth position with just four points in five games.
