India skipper Rohit Sharma is currently on a break. The “Hitman” wasn’t included in the ongoing series against South Africa and won’t be playing in the Ireland series either. Recently, he came into the limelight as he was missing from the images of the England-bound players. The BCCI uploaded a few pictures of players on the flight to the United Kingdom.

Apart from the Indian skipper, every player was seen. The fans got worried and asked about the whereabouts of the 35-year-old. In the midst of all this, the right-hander was seen playing cricket in the streets of Mumbai. A Twitter user uploaded the video of him playing with youngsters. The video has been watched by more than 1000 people and counting.

On the other hand, it will be interesting to see whether the 2013 Champions Trophy winner is with the national team in England. Currently, the fans are worried about his absence. In the meantime, the team will also miss KL Rahul, who has been ruled out of the fifth Test against the Three Lions in July.

Rahul will fly to Germany for his groin operation. On the other hand, Rohit won’t be missing the English tour by the looks of it. His first assignment on the tour will be to ensure the World Number two Test side wins the fifth Test. Next up will be three T20Is and as many ODIs.

The team’s next priority would be to continue the preparation for the 20-20 World Cup later this year. Also, with the uncertainty over the number of the 50-over games ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup next year, the team would like to look into the ODI setup for the next year’s showpiece event. Besides, they would want to win their first ODI series in England since 2014. It is to be noted that the Men In Blue had previously lost their last ODI series in England, which was in 2018.
