India and England are going head-to-head in a rescheduled Test match from July 1. England recently dismantled a quality New Zealand side in a three-match Test series by 3-0 and have set their sight on India. Their new approach to Test cricket where they play every game for a win has increased a lot of buzz for the upcoming match. So much so that Sony Network has roped in the Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor for a promotional video.

The promotional video is made in collaboration with Ranbir’s upcoming movie Shamshera which is based on bringing the Kohinoor back to India. Sony sports has bought the rights to India’s tour of England which consists of a solo Test, three T20Is and three ODIs. The series will start with a Test on July 1st and end with an ODI on July 17th.

The Indian team completed a warm-up game with Leicestershire on June 26th and is looking set to face the England team. The senior players Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami who were allowed time for rest after the Indian T20 League have finally joined the team. Meanwhile, India’s white-ball team is currently on a tour to Ireland.

On the back of great batting, the Indian side won both of the matches in the Ireland tour. Deepak Hooda emerged as the Man of the Series with a century knock in the second game. Sanju Samson also grabbed his opportunity with both hands with a 77 off of 42 balls. The white ball team would now return to England for T20I and ODI series after the 5th Test.

In other news, Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain has been infected with the COVID-19 virus and is going through quarantine in the team hotel. The captaincy position is still up in the air with KL Rahul also out due to an injury and Virat Kohli having stepped down. Jasprit Bumrah looks like the likely choice but the team management is yet to confirm anything regarding captaincy.
