The match turned out to be very interesting in the end as it went into a super over. Both teams scored 158 runs as Lahore captain Sheen Afridi scored 23 runs in the last over of the second innings. This expensive over led to Wahab Riaz bowling in the Super Over.

The experienced Zalmi skipper conceded just five runs in the over with no boundary. Shoaib Malik then finished off the game with consecutive boundaries on Shaheen Afridi's bowling. Lahore, however, managed to stay at the second position and will now play Multan Sultans to book a place in the final.

Peshawar Zalmi will play the eliminator against Islamabad United. The winner of the match will play against the loser of the Qualifier in the Eliminator- 2. The winner of that match will be the next finalist.

No action has been taken by the PCB on the Rauf-Ghulam incident. The PCB has been surrounded by a major controversy started by James Faulkner. The Australian left the tournament mid-way claiming that the board was not honoring the contract. The PCB has denied any such claims and has banned the all-rounder from the Pakistan Super League.
