Cricket experts reckoned that MS Dhoni might not play next year for the franchise. However, as it turned out, Chennai kept faith in his abilities and retained him among the four players prior to the Indian T20 League 2022 Mega-Auction.

This year, he isn’t the captain of the side but has shown great form with the bat. In his very first game, he scored an unbeaten 50 to take the team to a reasonable score on the board. While wickets kept falling at the other end, MS Dhoni maintained his composure and played right till the end.

He also played a vital cameo in the next game as well. However, the former Indian skipper showed his magical finishing ability in Chennai’s last game against Mumbai on Thursday. Needing 16 runs in the final four balls of the game, MS Dhoni struck a 6,4,2,4 to finish the game on the very last ball and help Chennai register their second win of the season.

With 16 runs needing in the final over, perhaps, no one in the team could have won it from that situation for Chennai. However, former skipper, MS Dhoni has a mastery on that and, he turned back the clock on Thursday and showed one and all that he still has the power in his arms to do that.
