Indian Team Physio Nitin Patel and Head Coach Rahul Dravid were also present at the event and congratulated the players for showing their might against the Indian side. It was a wonderful comeback from Nepal considering that they suffered a 238-run win against Pakistan at Multan in their first-ever Asia Cup game.

India were too hot to handle for Nepal with the bat. The game became a rain-hit encounter and the target of 231 was reduced to 147 in 25 overs.  Rohit made a cracking unbeaten 74 off 59 balls with six fours and five sixes. Shubman Gill made an unbeaten 67 off 62 balls studded with eight fours and one six.

As a result, the Men in Blue ended up with three points and made it to the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup. For Nepal, it was a very tough initiation, but the team showed a lot of promise and it was there for everyone to see. India will lock horns with Pakistan on September 10 for round two of the clash of the arch-rivals.
