Rajasthan has reached the finals of the Indian T20 League 2022 by defeating Bangalore in Qualifier 2 of the tournament. The Men in Pink were stunning with the ball restricting Bangalore for 157 runs in their 20 overs. While chasing the target Rajasthan reached the target comfortably on the back of Jos Buttler’s brilliant century (106 off 60).
Notably, this year Buttler has been in a tremendous form in the tournament. He has scored 824 runs in the tournament at a strike rate of 151.7 and an average of 58.86. The century against Bangalore was his fourth in the tournament. This is a feat achieved only twice in the history of the tournament. Earlier the Indian batter Virat Kohli achieved the feat in the 2016 season of the Indian 20 League.
Meanwhile, this has been the third time Shimron Hetmyer had been present at the opposite end when Buttler scored a century in the tournament. In a recent video posted by the franchise on their official Twitter handle Hetmyer was seen reminding the English batter the same. Buttler also humorously replied that he needs to take Hetmyer everywhere he goes signifying that he is Buttler’s lucky charm.
In the short clip Hetmyer is seen saying to the camera – “Whenever he scores a hundred, I’m always on the other side.” To which Buttler replied – “Yeah man, I take you everywhere with me!” After which the two shook hands and then Hetmyer left saying – “Once I wasn’t there, I think just once. Every other time…”

The video warmed the hearts of the fan. It was great to watch the camaraderie and the bond the player from different nationalities shares in the dressing room.
Speaking of the final of the Indian T20 League 2022. Rajasthan’s chances to lift the trophy for the second time will largely depend on Buttler and Hetmyer. While the franchise will depend on Buttler to give them a solid start, the onus of giving them a powerful finish will be on Hetmyer.
