Buttler has scored a whopping 824 runs in 16 games at an average of 58.66. He equalled Virat Kohli's record as he became the second batter to score four hundreds in a single edition. His fourth hundred of the tournament came during the second qualifier. He scored a brilliant 106 from just 60 balls against Bangalore to ensure that the Rajasthan-based franchise book a spot in the final.

His performance enabled him to win the player of the match award as well. During the post-match presentation, he spoke about how Shane Warne has been synonymous with Rajasthan. The Englishman also mentioned the fact that the legendary spinner led Rajasthan to their first and only title during the inaugural edition of the league. Warne died on March 4 due to a suspected heart attack.

"Shane Warne is such an influential figure for the Rajasthan Royals and having led the team to success in the first season, we will miss him dearly, but we know he is looking down on us with a lot of pride today," said Jos Buttler. On numerous occasions, Warne had gone on record to speak about how close the Rajasthan-based franchise was to his heart.

Thus, they would certainly want to win the title for their franchise legend. In the meanwhile, Buttler drew light on his superb form. He stated that he entered the tournament with low expectations. Further on, he spoke about how he had a season of two halves.

"I came into the season with very low expectations, but with a lot of energy and excitement and to be stood here now and have the season I had with such a great team and get us into the finals is incredibly exciting. I had a tournament of two halves. I had some really honest conversations with some close people around me, Kumar Sangakkara and Trevor Penney.

I was feeling a bit of pressure, getting distracted and I was trying to suppress it and it was only until a week ago or so that I opened up inside and talking about that made me feel a lot better going into Kolkata and that innings gave me the confidence that helped today. I am always trying to play the game, what is the game asking me to do any particular time and what skill set do I have to try and use on that particular day," he added.
