England won the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup defeating Pakistan in the title clash of the tournament. English skipper Jos Buttler won the flip of the coin and decided to bowl first at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. Batting first, Pakistan managed to post a total of 137 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, riding on the back of the half-century knock of Ben Stokes, England managed to cross the finishing line in 19 overs to win the match by five wickets.

Apart from the brilliant action on the field, the English team also caught attention for their gesture towards two of their players Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali during the celebration. As both Rashid and Moeen belong to the Islamic religion where champagne and wines are not considered holy.

Keeping that in mind, skipper Jos Buttler asked Rashid and Moeen to leave the podium after the photo session before the English team broke into a champagne celebration. The video of this gesture from skipper Buttler has gone viral over social media and cricket fans are also sharing it in numbers.

Talking about the action from both the teams in the title clash of the 20-20 World Cup 2022, on the back of the individual knocks of 32 and 38 runs from Babar Azam and senior batter Shan Masood helped Pakistan to reach the total of 137 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The star sensational all-rounder Sam Curran picked 3 wickets by conceding just 12 runs in his quota of four overs.

While chasing the target, England’s skipper in the Test format and the veteran all-rounder, Ben Stokes played an outstanding and match-defining knock in the favor of the three lions. The 31-year-old star all-rounder played a half-century knock of 52 runs off 49 balls with five boundaries and a six to his name.

Eventually, England won the match by five wickets with one over remaining in the end and Sam Curran was adjudged player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance in the title clash during the title clash of the 20-20 World Cup.
