Delhi have now won seven out of their 13 games. One of their most consistent performers in this edition has been David Warner. He has scored 427 runs in 11 games at an average of 53.38. However, he failed to make an impact with the bat during Delhi's game against Punjab. He was dismissed for a golden duck.

Yet, he made his presence felt during the game as he took an absolute blinder of a catch. As a matter of fact, it was his catch that put the final nail in the Punjab-based franchise's coffin. After a superb performance by Delhi's spinners, the Mayank Agarwal-led side were 82-7 in 13 overs. However, Jtiesh Sharma kept scoring the timely boundaries to ensure that his side were still in the game.

Punjab then required 39 runs in three overs, and still had a chance to pull off a spectacular win. However, the fourth ball of the 18th over saw Sharma try to hit the ball for a maximum. As it hit the inside half of his bat, it lacked the distance. It went flat to Warner, who was fielding at long-off. While not many fielders would have been able to get to the ball, the Aussie opener dived, and went on to take a fantastic catch.

It was a terrific low catch, to say the least. This meant that Jitesh Sharma had to depart after scoring a 34-ball 44. Thus, Punjab could only score 142-9 in the second innings. Hence, Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant was mighty impressed with his troops. He also backed Warner despite his failure with the bat, and stated that he has been superb throughout the tournament.

"Throughout the tournament we have been losing one, and winning one game. That's something we wanted to change as a team and we got it. The change of pace from Livingstone was good, so it's part and parcel of the game. Can't be too hard on Warney (Warner) because he has been playing fantastic throughout the tournament," said Rishabh Pant during the post-match presentation.
