Ben Stokes was the main reason why England could make a comeback to the game. Shreyas Iyer was batting on 29 runs when he stepped down the track to hit Tom Hartley over the top.

As the ball swirled high in the air, Ben Stokes began chasing after it. Despite failing to judge the trajectory early, Stokes made a fine run backwards. Without taking his eye of the ball, the English skipper took a stunning catch.

Post lunch session set to be close affair –

India played well as Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer had batted well for some time. The two batters stitched a stand of 81 runs after India found itself in early trouble. It was James Anderson, who did the damage with the ball early on as Ben Stokes hogged all the limelight.

Rohit Sharma saw his off stump go for a walk as he was out for 13. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the next to go when he scored 17 before Joe Root took his catch. The young batter had added just two runs to his overnight score as he went for an expansive drive.

Just when it seemed like England was starting to take control, India came back into the contest. Shubman Gill finally found form as he went after the English spinners and played amazing shots.

With a four off Rehan Ahmed, the 24-year-old notched up his first Test fifty in over ten innings. It was a good return to form for Gill as the selectors are set to pick the team for the final three games of the series.

Shreyas Iyer will be under pressure as his Test form has completely deserted him. Rajat Patidar was the last wicket to fall before lunch. Ben Foakes continued his good form with the gloves as he snared yet another outstanding catch. At Lunch, India was leading by 273 runs with Axar Patel batting with Gill as two days and two sessions are left in the game.
