Both Ajinkya Rahane and Ravichandran Ashwin are currently busy playing in the ongoing IPL. Rahane is playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) while Ashwin is playing for Rajasthan Royals (RR). On 12 April 2023, CSK locked horns with RR at the Chepauk. Both teams managed two wins out of three games.

So, a mouth-watering clash was waiting for fans. Speaking of the match, RR batted first and scored 175 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. In reply, when Ajinkya Rahane came out to bat for CSK, he got involved in a funny banter with Ravichandran Ashwin. The video has now gone viral on social media.

Ravichandran Ashwin took the wicket of  Ajinkya Rahane as he scored 31 runs off 19 balls

Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the sixth over of CSK’s innings. Ajinkya Rahane was batting along with Devon Conway. For RR, Ravichandran Ashwin came out to bowl. On the second delivery of that over, Rahane was seen coming down the track for a big shot. Seeing him coming down, Ashwin drew out himself after getting into the bowling stride. Then, when he again went for the ball, Rahane stood tall and drew himself out. Seeing that, fans found it funny and claimed that it was a benefitting reply from the batter to the veteran spinner’s mind games.

In the match, MS Dhoni won the toss and asked RR to bat first. Ravichandran Ashwin played a counter-attacking knock as he scored 30 runs off 22 balls, including one four and two sixes. Rahane smashed a fifty off just 19 balls against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the last match. Hence, all eyes were on the veteran batter when he came out to bat. While chasing 176 runs, CSK lost Ruturaj Gaikwad early. He scored only 10 runs off eight balls, including two fours. But, Ashwin had the last laugh as he took Rahane’s wicket. Rahane scored 31 runs off 19 balls, including two fours and one six.
