The former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli’s batting woes continue as he got out on the very first ball of his innings while playing for Bangalore against Lucknow on Tuesday at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai. He walked out to bat after Chameera accounted for the wicket of Anuj Rawat on the fourth ball of the his very first over of the innings.
On the very next ball, he had Virat Kohli caught at backward point. The former Indian skipper was looking to show intent right from the first ball itself. Chameera bowled a back of a length delivery which could have been left alone. However, Virat Kohli hit it straight to Deepak Hooda stationed at deep backward cover position. The ball had a lot of width to put it away but the bounce, perhaps, troubled Virat Kohli.
After hitting the ball straight to Hooda, Virat Kohli was left stunned before walking back to the hut. The 33-year old batter hasn’t been in the best of forms. He started his campaign with a valiant 29-ball 41-run knock. However, the Indian batter has had a lean run, since. Virat Kohli has now played 7 matches in the Indian T20 League 2022, managing only 119 runs. He is yet to score a half-century in the tournament.
Last year, Virat Kohli had stepped down from the captaincy role in a bid to manage his workload. However, his decision hasn’t had any positive effect on his batting numbers. The former Indian skipper has been enduring a lean patch with the bat and it’s a big concern for both Bangalore and team India.
Bangalore have made the worst possible start in the match. At the time of writing, Bangalore are reeling at 65 for 4 after 8 overs. Faf du Plessis and Shahbaz Ahmed are currently at the crease, scoring 21 and 2 respectively.
The Bangalore and Virat Kohli’s fans were left disappointed after witnessing Kohli’s another failure. Here’s a look some of the reactions from the fans.

#ViratKohli𓃵 The smile after each and every early dismissal is just becoming too often a sight now! Unpopular opinion: With this form, any other player apart from Virat wouldn't have made it to the 2022 #T20worldcup squad.#RCBvsLSG #LSGvsRCB #IPL2022 #IPL #viratkohliduck
