MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli share a bond that is based on pure trust, understanding, and mutual respect. Both cricketers can often be seen praising each other for their achievements on cricket fields. Kohli made his international debut under Dhoni’s leadership and went on to be the best batter of his generation.

Later, he led Dhoni for two years and solidified his reputation as a fearless skipper. His equation with Dhoni also grew stronger, and his admiration for the man also increased.

Kohli often turned to Dhoni for advice and more often than not, it was correct. Now, Kohli has shared a valuable piece of advice he received from the former India captain. The wordings are in Hindi, which loosely translates to “There should be a gap of minimum 6-7 months while making a mistake, I always remember that.”

The 33-year-old is expected to be fit after missing out on the second Test due to a back spasm. In his absence, KL Rahul led the team, as India lost the second match by seven wickets. The series currently stands 1-1, and Kohli has a chance to create history by becoming the first Indian captain to win a Test series in South Africa. If he manages to do that, then it will be the second SENA country after Australia that India will manage to win under Kohli.

However, for that to happen, the Indian Test skipper needs to score big. It has been over two years since Kohli last scored a Test hundred. Considering the challenges that he loves to take on, and the possibility of a historic milestone, the 33-year-old would want to win Cape Town Test and bring the Freedom Trophy home.
