Vintage MS Dhoni to return? Keeper-batter back with orange gloves

The hype around the 15th edition of the Indian T20 league is well and truly justified. Fans are all set to see ten teams battling it out to win the trophy. The first game of the 2022 edition will see the finalists of the previous edition i.e. Chennai and Kolkata cross swords.

Both teams would want to start their campaign on a winning note. As far as the defending champions are concerned, their "Thala" MS Dhoni recently stepped down as the captain of the franchise and passed on the responsibility to Ravindra Jadeja. 

Thus, the yellow army will have a new leader this time around.

 Dhoni will be playing this season as a player. Recently, he was seen training in a video posted by Chennai on their official Twitter handle. What managed to grab everyone's attention were his gloves. The legend was spotted wearing an orange pair of gloves.

It is to be noted that it looked similar to the gloves he use to wear during the initial days of his career. Back in 2004, he used to wear an orange pair of gloves. Thus, the fans were quick to spot that and drew parallels between his old look and his current look. His fans are hopeful of him playing like the old days, where he used to hit sixes for fun. Hence, this video went viral in no time.

Even Jadeja was spotted in this clip. Both, the all-rounder and Dhoni were seen sweating it out. As for the 40-year-old, all eyes will be on him as it's been a while since he's been at his best. His batting performances in the previous two editions of the Indian T20 league were underwhelming to say the last.

He last scored a fifty during the 2019 edition. If the four-time champions are to do well in the 2022 edition, then Dhoni would have to have a good season with the bat. Besides, he is expected to guide and advise the new captain and help him settle into the new role.
