'Unfit to be captain' - Twitter users slam KL Rahul for not giving chance to youngsters in the third ODI against Zimbabwe

India locked horns with Zimbabwe in the three-match ODI series and managed to whitewash the host 3-0. It was the first-ever series victory for KL Rahul as a captain and the Karnataka batter can be proud of it. However, youngsters like Rahul Tripathi and Ruturaj Gaikwad ended up not getting chances in all three matches.

This further ignited the fire and people started to criticize KL Rahul for his poor selection of players. The player has been facing criticism for selecting Avesh Khan ahead of other bowlers and for his poor batting. The exclusion of Rahul Tripathi and Ruturaj Gaikwad put him in trouble as the fans expected them to be a part of the final ODI given Team India has already sealed the series.

Men in Blue, however, managed to bag the final ODI with quality batting from Shubman Gill. Openers Shikhar Dhawan and skipper KL Rahul perished after putting on 63 runs for the opening partnership. Shubman Gill entered the arena at number three on the back of splendid performances in the past five ODIs, including those from the West Indies series.

The batter ended up amassing 130 runs off just 97 balls before he perished and powered India's total to 289 for the loss of eight wickets. The Indian bowlers tried to contain Zimbabwe batters until Sikandar Raza almost took the game away from India in the end. Despite his valiant century, the Red team ended up falling short of the target by 13 runs.

Players like Shahbaz Ahmed, Rahul Tripathi and Ruturaj Gaikwad ended up missing all three ODIs. The Indian fans were not happy with Skipper's idea of leaving them despite winning the series in the previous match itself. It did not go well as fans demanded KL Rahul to not captain Team India in future.

The Lucknow batter failed to produce a strong comeback as he was dismissed for just one run in the second ODI. He missed out on the opportunity once again as he perished for thirty runs. This further allowed the fans to come up with a point that the skipper for the tour must have given chances to youngsters.

Not understanding what he is trying to prove by playing opening as if he is sehwag. Same thing this shit did in his last captaincy as well. Benching classy players like tripathi rutu etc and giving chance to gully players like ishan axar etc
