Shahid Afridi is known as one of the most decorated cricketers of all time for Pakistan. During his playing days, he led the team as well song with captaining the side also. But, now an old video has gone viral on social media where the former Pakistan skipper, Shahid Afridi was seen admitting not to know about the full form of ‘LBW’ dismissal.

Speaking of the video, the incident took place at Faysal Quraishi’s show Salam Zindagi on a Pakistani TV channel. There, Afridi was asked to play a game where a word needs to be guessed while listening to music at full volume through headphones. The presenters were showing gestures to him to make him understand the given phrase: ‘LBW (Leg Before Wicket).'

Here is the shared video:

Shahid Afridi played 524 international matches for Pakistan

The presenters tried their hardest but eventually, he guessed the first two words (Leg and Before). But, ultimately he failed. After removing the headphones, he said: “Leg Before Wicket kya hoti hai? Yeh kaun si cricket ki zuban hai?” (What does Leg Before Wicket Mean? What Cricketing language is this?). He further added that he never heard of that ‘Leg Before Wicket’ term. Afridi added: “This is the first time I am hearing this term “leg before wicket” being associated with cricket. It’s probably hit wicket that you are trying to say.”

Seeing that, fans went crazy and trolled the former Pakistan skipper brutally on social media. Speaking of his career, he played 524 matches for the Men in Green across all three formats from 1996 to 2018. During his playing days, he announced retirement five times. He also took 541 wickets and among those, most of them were LBW dismissals. Hence, fans were left shell-shocked when he confirmed not know the full form of LBW despite representing his country for such a long time in the International arena. Currently, fans get to watch him in action in different franchise T20 Leagues in Pakistan and other countries.
