The Indian T20 League consists of a Purple Cap, which is given to the bowler who picks the most number of wickets in the season. Every season, several world-class bowlers battle it out to win this prestigious cap. 1) Harshal Patel (32 wickets):

Harshal Patel was bowling like a dream in the 2021 edition. Not only was he Bangalore's biggest match-winner, but he also equalled Dwayne Bravo's record, and picked the most number of wickets in an edition. The bowling all-rounder picked 32 wickets in 15 games at an average of 14.34.

2) Dwayne Bravo (32 wickets):

As mentioned earlier, it was DJ Bravo who first picked 32 wickets in a season. He achieved this feat during the 2013 edition. However, as he played 18 (three more than what Patel played in 2021) games, he finds himself second on this list. Nevertheless, the Trinidadian was absolutely sensational in that edition and played a crucial role in Chennai making it to the final.

3) Kagiso Rabada:

Kagiso Rabada was breathing fire in the 2020 edition. The Proteas pacer picked 30 wickets in just 17 games at an average of 18.27. After narrowly missing out on winning the Purple Cap in 2019, he ensured that he won the prestigious cap in the season to follow. He was one of the major reasons why Delhi made it to the final.

4) Lasith Malinga (28 wickets):

Lasith Malinga is unarguably one of the greatest bowlers to have played the biggest T20 league in the world. However, he was at his best during the fourth edition of the league. The Sri Lankan picked 28 wickets in 16 games and had a bowling average of just 13.39. However, it was his death bowling that grabbed everyone's attention in that season.

5) James Faulkner (28 wickets):

Despite not winning the Purple Cap, James Faulkner finds himself on this list. In the sixth season in 2013, he wreaked havoc as he was picking wickets for fun. The Aussie managed to take 28 wickets in just 15 games. This included two fifers as well.
