Thus, the team will have to appoint a new captain for the fifteenth edition of the Indian T20 league. 1) David Warner:

Under David Warner's leadership, Hyderabad went on to win the title in 2016. The Aussie opener might just be the ideal captaincy option for Bangalore. Besides, he's arguably one of the best players in the history of the league as well. Having him in the side would certainly reduce the burden on Virat Kohli.

2) Shreyas Iyer:

Among all the Indians available in the upcoming mega auction, Shreyas Iyer seems to be the best. He led the Delhi Capitals to the final in 2020. However, the Delhi-based franchise decided not to retain him. Thus, Bangalore have a golden opportunity to acquire his services. Moreover, with age on his side, Iyer could go on to be a long-term option as well.

3) Steve Smith:

Despite not being in the best of form in the shortest format of the game, Steve Smith could prove to be a superb option for Bangalore. Not only is he one of the most tactical captains out there, but he also loves the added responsibility of leading a side. His batting performance is always better when he leads a side. As far as his captaincy record in the Indian T20 league is concerned, he has the third-highest win percentage as a captain (59.52%). Last but not the least, Bangalore wouldn't have to spend too much on him and thus, can use the saved money to buy more players.
