The fielding standards in the ongoing Big Bash League 2022 in Australia are something that have made the entire cricketing fraternity to talk about. The ardent cricket fanatics have witnessed some amazing blinders in the 12th season of the prestigious Australian franchise T20 League. A similar sort of stunning athleticism has been seen in the ongoing 52nd match of the tournament between Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades.

This time, it was Will Sutherland who amazed everyone with his outstanding fielding heroics on the second ball of the 16th over when Tom Rogers was bowling to Perth’s Nick Hobson. The latter happened to loft it over the mid-off region, the hit was quite good, but it went higher than Hobson expected.

Subsequently, Sutherland ran back towards the direction of the mid-off region and took an extreme jump to his backside, and landed up beautifully with a clean catch to his name.

Speaking of the ongoing match between Perth and Melbourne so far, the latter won the toss and asked Ashton Turner’s men to bat first. Cameron Bancroft played an outstanding knock of 95 runs off just 50 balls with five boundaries and six massive sixes to his name. Other than Bancroft, his opening partner Stephen Eskinazi also played a knock of 54 runs off just 29 balls with six boundaries and three sixes.

On the back of these two knocks, Scorchers posted a big total of 212 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

At the time of filling this copy, Melbourne Renegades have scored 125 runs for the loss of four wickets in 15.1 overs while chasing the target of 213 runs.
