Gujarat just can't seem to lose a game at the moment. The 43rd match of the Indian T20 league 2022 saw them beat Bangalore by six wickets. This is the Faf du Plessis-led side's fifth loss of this edition.

After winning the toss, Bangalore went against the norm, and decided to bat first. Owing to the humid conditions in Mumbai, Gujarat's skipper Hardik Pandya stated that they too wanted to bat first. Nevertheless, they picked an early wicket in the form of Faf du Plessis. The Bangalore skipper had to depart for a duck.

However, Virat Kohli decided to play the role of an anchor, and didn't take too many risks. He joined forces with Rajat Patidar to put on a 99-run partnership. While the 33-year-old was holding the innings from one end, the youngster took the aggressive route. He was dismissed after scoring a 32-ball 52.

His knock consisted of five fours and two sixes. On the other hand, Kohli was dismissed in the 17th over. He scored 58 runs from 53 balls. Glenn Maxwell then took the onus of getting his side to a good total. The Aussie all-rounder scored a quickfire 33 off just 18 balls.

Thus, the Bangalore-based franchise got to 170-6 in the first innings. Post which, Gujarat's openers scored 47 runs in the first six overs of the second innings. Just when Wriddhiman Saha looked to cover his start into a big score, Wanindu Hasaranga dismissed him in his first over.

Shubman Gill followed a similar fate as he had to return to the pavilion after scoring a 28-ball 31. Hardik Pandya had a rare failure as he had to depart in the 11th over. Bangalore's spinners were disciplined and hardly bowled any bad deliveries.

However, David Miller and Rahul Tewatia once again joined forces as they hit some lusty blows to keep Gujarat ahead of the game. Both of them continued their good form as they ensured that Gujarat chase their total with three balls to spare. While Miller scored an unbeaten 39, Tewatia hit the winning runs, and ended up scoring a 25-ball 43. Gujarat have now won eight out of their nine games. Several fans took to Twitter to speak about the match, they gave their opinions on the same.
