Bangalore and Rajasthan faced off in match 39 of the Indian T20 League 2022 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune. This game saw a fascinating battle between the bat and ball. Jos Buttler, who is holding the Orange Cap, got out cheaply after scoring eight runs. Not just him, other in-form batters such as Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson, and Shimron Hetmyer couldn't create any impact with the bat.

For the Men In Red and Black, bowlers such as Mohammed Siraj, Josh Hazlewood, Wanindu Hasarnaga, and Harshal Patel kept the run-scoring in check and took wickets at regular intervals. Siraj, Hazelwood, and Hasarnaga took two wickets each while Patel took one. On the other hand, the 2008 winners found an unlikely hero at the time when they were struggling at 99/5.

Riyan Parag scored an unbeaten 56 off 31 balls, including fours sixes and three fours. Parag took the team to a respectable total of 144/8, with wickets falling at the other end. In reply, the Faf du Plessis-led side also struggled with the bat and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Virat Kohli, who was coming off two back-to-back ducks, could only score nine.

Kuldeep Sen, who was playing the game after warming the bench in the last few matches, took the wickets of Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell on successive deliveries to leave Bangalore reeling at 37-3. Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed, who won the game for their side when both teams met last time in the ongoing season, couldn't repeat the glory this time around. Karthik's unfortunate run out in the 13th over, at a team score of 72 - 5 was the final nail in the coffin for Bangalore.

The likes of Sen, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Prasidh Krishna took wickets at the regular intervals and helped their team win the game by 29 runs. Purple Cap holder, Yuzvendra Chahal couldn't pick a wicket but kept the flow of runs in check.
