The Australian batsman Travis Head made history on Wednesday by becoming the first person to score a century in a World Test Championship final. The Australian star's fast scoring put India under immediate pressure. He played with a counter-attacking strategy. The Southpaw reached the three-figure threshold quickly in just 106 balls.

As the batsman at No. 5, Head was given a challenging assignment as India quickly took two wickets on either side of the lunch break. When he hit Mohammed Shami for a four on his fifth and final ball, Head made his intentions clear. The Southpaw accelerated to 28 off just 19 balls and didn't stop for a while. He eventually calmed down and reached fifty in 60 balls. Because of his aggressive style, the Australians scored 97 runs in the second session and only lost one wicket after lunch before dinner.

England skipper Ben Stokes earlier predicted the threat Travis Head poses

Ben Stokes singled out Head during a pre-summer interview with Nasser Hussain for Sky Sports, which was noteworthy. "I think Travis Head is someone who since he came into the team has really taken his opportunity, and gone 'This is how I'm going to play'," Stokes had said. "Him being allowed to go out and play the way he has, he's been so successful. He was so hard to bowl to in Australia when we were there last time because he just threw counterpunches, and those innings he played against us were really hard to bowl to, really hard to set fields too. But we are prepared for that."

As far as the game is concerned, Australia looks to be in the driverโ€™s seat with complete control of the game. The Indians have struggled for wickets with just three scalps in the game so far. Interestingly, if the game ends in a draw, the two teams will share the Test Mace for this cycle of the WTC. In the previous cycle, India faced off against New Zealand succumbing to an 8-wicket loss.
