‘South Africa, you need this man’: Yohan Blake wants AB de Villiers to come out of international retirement

Famous Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake, who is a cricket enthusiast has expressed his desire to watch AB de Villiers play for the South African national cricket team. The Tweet from Blake comes after De Villiers disclosed his plans for representing the Proteas in the upcoming T20 World Cup, post his scintillating knock of 76 against Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai on Sunday.

After his knock, there were many fans on social media who felt that De Villiers should be brought back into the national team. De Villiers said that he’ll take a call on coming out of retirement at the end of the IPL 2021.

After the South African’s breath-taking display of batting, Blake took to Twitter and wrote, “Wow de Villiers is on a different level. South Africa come on you need this man.” Blake had previously said that he would love to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore if given an opportunity, in the presence of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.

Coming back to the possible comeback of AB de Villiers’, since his retirement from international cricket in 2018, the South African batsman has played in several T20 leagues. Interestingly, Boucher has also shown interest in bringing him back into the national team.

After the match against KKR where AB de Villiers also got the Man of the Match award, he revealed his intentions. “If I can slot in there, it will be fantastic if all those things fall in place. Waiting for [the chat with] Bouchy [Boucher] towards the end of the IPL, and we will then plan accordingly.”
