They had a good start as former RCB pacer, Jason Behrendorff took the wickets of Virat Kohli and Anuj Rawat inside the powerplay. At 16/2, the likes of skipper Faf du Plessis (65 off 41 balls) and Glenn Maxwell (68 off 33 balls) put together 120 runs in 10.1 overs. However, after their partnership ended and both got out in the space of close to two overs, things changed drastically for the Red Army.

They could only manage 199/6 at the end of their innings. When the likes of Du Plessis and Maxwell were batting, the team looked like going past the 220-run mark easily. However, the duo's wickets ended up breaking the momentum.

In reply, the former champions had a great start as Ishan Kishan, after being included in the Indian test team, played some shots and provided a great start. He scored 42 off 21 balls and shut down the critics who questioned his selection for the Test Championship final next month. However, in the fifth over, Kishan and skipper Rohit Sharma got out to Wanindu Hasaranga.

At 52/2, the likes of Nehal Wadhera and Suryakumar Yadav put together 140 runs in the next 11 overs. This was absolute carnage as the team managed to chase down the total inside 17 overs (16.3 overs to be precise). Both Wadhera and Yadav scored match-winning half-centuries. With this win, the MI returned the favor to RCB.

Apparently, the three-time finalists won pretty much the same way against MI early in the season. Now, RCB will play against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur which also happens to be a must-win game for both teams.
