Shubman Gill replies hilariously to fan’s weird social media post

India’s young batter Shubman Gill has been winning the hearts of fans on and off the field. The 24-year-old was lethal with the bat in the white ball format for India in 2023. After a rough start to the year, Gill seems to have found his form in the previous two games.

One young lady had taken to Instagram and posted a message saying “Agar Shubman Gill ne is reel pe comment kia toh kal se padhna shuru kar dungi”. The young batter noticed it and replied “Shuru kar do padhna”. The reply was pinned by the girl as the cricketer’s witty reply left everyone amused.

Shubman Gill roared back to form with a superb century during the second innings of the Vizag Test. In the third Test, the young batter was run out for 91 after a miscommunication with Kuldeep Yadav cost his wicket. 

Shubman Gill and India look to wrap series in Ranchi –

With just under 48 hours left for the fourth Test in Ranchi to begin the focus is likely to shift to Shubman Gill once again. The 24-year-old struggled to get going in the early part of his innings with the bat. 

Former India skipper Anil Kumble during the third Test while speaking to Jio Cinema said, “I think Shubman Gill, when his intent is aggressive, he’s a much better player. He’s looking to score runs and that’s the way he plays. But when he gets subdued that’s when his feet don’t move and then he goes hard at the ball.”

India is currently leading the series 2-1 after having beaten England by 434 runs in Rajkot. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a tremendous unbeaten double century with Gill scoring 91. Sarfaraz Khan scored fifty in each innings to mark a special feat on his Test debut for India. 

It will be interesting to see the combination that India decides to go with. Ranchi will offer a bit of seam and swing early on the fast bowlers in the morning conditions. Mukesh Kumar or Axar Patel could be drafted into the team with Jasprit Bumrah being rested. 

The onus of bowling will fall on the Indian spin trio of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav. India’s fans will hope that Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shubman Gill can come good once again to wrap up the series during the 4th Test.
