Former India skipper MS Dhoni has joined the Chennai squad for the Men’s Indian T20 League 2023. After he landed, the fans were ready to receive him and they started celebrating in their own ways. Dhoni arrived in Tamil Nadu’s capital city to join the Yellow brigade’s pre-season camp. He is set to retire from the league after the 16th season in April and May this year.

Meanwhile, in a video that is going viral, the former India skipper was showered with garlands. On the other hand, some fans were seen beating dholaks in celebration.

MS Dhoni’s impact might be less in the Indian T20 League 2023: Sanjay Manjrekar

Meanwhile, a while back, former India cricketer Sanjay Majrekar said that Dhoni is a player who is playing because of his leadership skills. The former added that Dhoni doesn’t play regularly which might impact his batting performance. However, Manjrekar further added that Dhoni has leadership experience.

ā€œLook, having watched T20 cricket over the years, especially with the ITL and the kind of pressures that teams feel, I believe that you can have one player in your team on pure leadershipā€.

ā€œMS Dhoni doesn’t play regularly, so his impact with the bat is not going to be as much as it was in the prime, but somebody like MS Dhoni, with his leadership experience, you can have him in the team, to make a difference with his leadership. And this is a guy who’s had a team that was called the ā€˜Old Men Playing ITL Together’ and they won that particular season.ā€
