In the ongoing game between Punjab and Bangalore, Jonny Bairstow has punished the Men In Red and Black with ease. Ahead of the game, Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to field first. However, little did he know what he and his team was going to face next. The right-hander than hit Josh Hazlewood for 20 runs including two fours and as many sixes in the second over of the innings. In the last over of the powerplay, he took on Mohammed Siraj for 22 runs, including three sixes and a four. He reached his half-century in the same over. It came in just 21 balls. This is the seventh fastest  fifty in the history of the Indian T20 League.

The record for the fastest fifty is held by KL Rahul and Pat Cummins, who have hit their respective fifties in 14 balls. The second in the list are Yusuf Pathan and Sunil Narine, who have hit 15-ball fifties. After them, Suresh Raina and Ishan Kishan hold the record for the joint third quickest fifty in 16 balls. Coming back to Bairstow, the 2019 World Cup winner went on to score 66 off 29 balls.

He was caught at backward point by Siraj off left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmed in the 10th over of the innings. At that time, the scorecard read 101/2, thanks to the brilliance of the Englishman. At the time of writing, the 2014 finalists have reached 163/4 in 16 overs, thanks to Liam Livingstone's 43 off 30 balls including three fours and two sixes.
