In a recent line of events, the former Pakistan all-rounder has come up with some harsh comments about Gautam Gambhir. It all happened following a former Indian called Pakistan skipper Babar Azam ‘selfish’ while assessing the performance of the men in green.

“In my opinion, first, you think about your team instead of yourself; if nothing goes according to your plan, you should have sent Fakhar Zaman up the batting order. This is called selfishness; as a captain, it is easy to be selfish. It is easy for Babar and Rizwan to open the innings for Pakistan and create so many records. If you want to be a leader, you have to think about your team,” said Gambhir while talking about Babar Azam

Former India and Pakistan skippers, Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi are having a war of words over Babar Azam. Recently, the two-time World Cup winner didn’t mince words while expressing his views on Babar Azam’s batting. The former called Azam a ‘selfish’ player. Gambhir had added that a player needs to think about their team first while describing Babar’s batting in the shortest format of the game.

The comments from Gambhir didn’t go down well with one-time 20-20 World cup winner Shahid Afridi and he come with some cursing remarks for the Indian team as well.

“Tournament k baad koshish karenge Babar ko bole ki unke baare mein bhi kuch bole kyuki wo bhi toh ghar jayenge na. ,” replied Afridi during a show on Samaa TV.

“There is always criticism but you need to be very careful with words. You should use words that should come as advice for the player and you can make the people understand it as well. As far as Babar is concerned, he has given so many match-winning performances. The consistency with which he has scored, very few Pakistan batters have. He may not have risen to the expectations which are why he is facing some flak,” he added later
