Scott Kuggeleijn joins RCB as replacement for Kane Richardson

The Royal Challengers Bangalore has roped in Kiwi all-rounder Scott Kuggeleijn as a replacement for Kane Richardson, who pulled out of the Indian Premier League amidst the growing concerns of Coronavirus.

ESPN reported that Kuggeleign was part of the Mumbai Indians' bio bubble as a reserved player and has now moved to the Bangalore franchise. Along with Richardson, several players including the likes of Adam Zampa, Liam Livingstone, Andrew Tye also opted out of the T20 extravaganza. The replacements for the other players haven’t been announced yet.

Kuggeleijn was part of the CSK squad in 2019 and played two games for the ‘Yellow Brigade’, picking up two wickets at an economy of 8.88. The all-rounder has represented his national team, New Zealand in two ODIs and 16 T20Is, accounting for five and thirteen wickets respectively.

RCB at the moment are playing two overseas bowlers, Kyle Jamieson and Daniel Sams in their team and Kuggeleijn can be an apt replacement.

RCB is currently playing a game against Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Bangalore based franchise has posted a strong 171/5 in their 20 over on the back of a stellar performance from AB de Villiers who stroked a brutal 42 ball 75.

RCB suffered a humiliating defeat by CSK in their last game thus would be desperate to bounce back by winning this game. However, Delhi too have a decent batting line up and it will take a lot of effort to restrict them under the score.
