The Asia Cup 2023 is all set to begin on 30 August. The tournament is being hosted by Pakistan but as India refused to visit the country due to political barriers, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) proposed a hybrid model. As per that model, four matches will be played at their home while the other nine matches will be played in Sri Lanka.

India are scheduled to play all of their matches in Sri Lanka only. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) approved that model and now, the tournament is all set to happen as per that model only. Meanwhile, earlier reports were that the secretary of the Indian Cricket Board, Jay Shah was invited by PCB for the Asia Cup. But, now, reports have come out that the president of the Indian Cricket Board, Roger Binny and vice-president, Rajiv Shukla will visit Pakistan.

Roger Binny, Rajiv Shukla, and Jay Shah will attend the India vs Pakistan clash in Kandy on 2 September

As quoted by PTI, a source close to this development, said: "Binny, Shukla and secretary Jay Shah will be in Sri Lanka for the marquee India vs Pakistan clash in Pallekele (Kandy) on September 2. The trio will be back in India on September 3 after which the Indian Cricket Board president and vice-president will travel through Wagah border to Lahore." India will begin their campaign on 2 September only. Reports have also suggested that both Binny and Shukla have been invited for an official dinner on 4 September.

PCB will host that dinner at the Governor's House in Lahore. They might also watch the Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka game on 5 September and Pakistan’s first ‘Super 4s’ clash on 6 September. Both these matches are scheduled to take place in Lahore, Pakistan. However, if they eventually visit Pakistan, it will be the first time since the 2008 Mumbai Terror attack, that representatives of the Indian Cricket Board will visit the neighbouring country.
