On 7 May 2023, Gujarat Titans (GT) locked horns with Lucknow Super Giants (GT) in the ongoing IPL in Ahmedabad. In the reverse fixture, GT defeated LSG, so they were looking to double over them this year. Speaking of the match, LSG won the toss and asked GT to bat first in front of their home crowd.

For them, Wriddhiman Saha and Shuman Gill came out to bat. They began the innings with blistering shots all around the park and smashed all LSG bowlers. They put up a partnership of 142 runs in 12.1 overs for the first wicket. Wriddhiman Saha got out on 81 runs off 43 balls, including 10 fours and four sixes. But, seeing his innings, Virat Kohli came up with an appreciation Instagram story and fans reacted on social media.

GT scored 227 runs for two wickets in 20 overs against LSG

Virat Kohli had a controversial outing against LSG as he got involved in a heated bust-up with Naveen-ul-Haq and the LSG mentor, Gautam Gambhir. However, for such actions, Kohli got fined 100% of his match fee. Gambhir and Naveen also got fined 100% and 50% of their match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. So, fans claimed that Kohli intentionally shared the story to take a cheeky dig at Gambhir and his team yet again. However, speaking of this match, both Pandya brothers are doing captaincy for their respective teams.

Apart from Wriddhiman Saha, Shubman Gill scored 94* runs off 51 balls, including two fours and seven sixes. Along with him, skipper Hardik Pandya scored 25 runs off 15 balls, including one four and two sixes. David Miller also remained not out on 21* runs off 12 balls, including two fours and one six. Thus, GT posted a huge total of 227 runs for two wickets in 20 overs. For LSG, Mohsin Khan took one wicket for 42 runs in three overs. While Avesh Khan took one wicket for 34 runs in four overs.
