Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli was involved in a heated argument with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor Gautam Gambhir after RCB vs LSG clash in IPL 2023. Kohli was all pumped throughout the match and was celebrating every LSG wicket with high enthusiasm. Although the matter was hushed up after a rescue between the players, several former cricketers have expressed their displeasure over the controversy and said that it is not at all good for IPL and Indian cricket.

Meanwhile, Team India's former legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has also taken a dig at the fight between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir on social media. Yuvraj wrote on his Twitter handle tagging a cold drink brand, “I think #Sprite should sign #Gauti and #Cheeku for their campaign #ThandRakh what say guys? @GautamGambhir @imVkohli @Sprite,"

Yuvraj has always been a cricketer with a good disposition, he is renowned for his wit and was well known for his tendency of making jokes even while he was a member of Team India. Yuvraj has also shared the pitch with both Kohli and Gambhir. It will be interesting to observe how Yuvraj's comment affects Kohli or Gambhir in this situation.

A new rivalry in making

The IPL 2023 violent brawl between former RCB captain Kohli and LSG coach Gambhir resulted in 100% of match fees being penalised of their match expenses for violating the IPL Code of Conduct Article 2.21. Along with his altercation with Gambhir on the pitch, the former RCB captain also engaged in frank conversation with Kyle Mayers and LSG bowler Naveen-ul-Haq.

Following Bangalore's victory over Lucknow in the IPL 2023, Mayers and Kohli got into a heated argument, and Gambhir, a former India opener, served as a mediator by removing Mayers from the situation. However, the fans are expecting to see both teams again in the playoffs as they are loving this new rivalry. Interestingly, their wish can be fulfilled as both teams are in top 5 spots in the points table.
