On 13 May 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) took on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the ongoing IPL in Hyderabad. Speaking of the match, Aiden Markram won the toss and opted to bat first. While batting first, they scored 182 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Heinrich Klaasen was the highest scorer with 47 runs off 29 balls, including three fours and three sixes.

But, a controversial incident happened during the innings as the game got paused for some time. The whole incident occurred due to a poor decision from the third umpire regarding a no-ball. Seeing that, fans came up and slammed the umpire brutally over his final decision on social media.

Fans were not happy with the decision of the umpire

The incident took place during the 19th over of the innings. Abdul Samad and Klaasen were batting while Avesh Khan came up to bowl. On the third delivery, Samad was on strike and Avesh bowled a full toss. The batter managed to hit the ball but the umpire called it a no-ball for height. However, LSG reviewed the decision and after many checks, the third umpire asked the on-field umpire to overturn his decision. Thus, the ball was not a no-ball, and SRH batters were not happy, even the fans at the stadium.

Despite using the ball tracking technology, fans were shocked to see such a decision from the third umpire. Speaking of the match, after a good start, SRH suffered a mini-collapse in their batting and they were at 115 runs for five wickets in 12.2 overs. But, Heinrich Klaasen and Abdul Samad stitched a partnership of 58 runs for the sixth wicket. Samad remained not out on 37* runs off 25 balls, including one four and four sixes. For LSG, skipper Krunal Pandya took two wickets for 24 runs in four overs. While Yudhvir Singh, Avesh Khan, Amit Mishra, and Yash Thakur took one wicket each.
