‘Yeh kya behooda harkat hai’ - Fans show anger as Video of Amit Mishra using saliva on ball before dismissing Virat Kohli during RCB vs LSG clash goes viral

On 10 April 2023, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) took on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the ongoing IPL. However, LSG managed to win the match on the last ball and fans witnessed a thrilling finish to the game. But, now a video has gone viral that has created controversy involving the veteran LSG spinner Amit Mishra.

Virat Kohli scored 61 runs off 44 balls in the match before getting out to Mishra. But, in the video, Amit Mishra was seen using saliva on the ball before bowling against the former RCB skipper. He took the wicket of Kohli on the third delivery of the same over. However, after Covid-19, a new rule came into the game that bowlers can not use saliva on the balls, and if they do, that will be considered a ball-tampering.

Hence, seeing the spinner doing that, fans were not happy and shared their anger on social media. Speaking of the match, RCB batted first and scored 212 runs for two wickets. Virat Kohli scored 61 runs, Glenn Maxwell scored 59 runs, and Faf du Plessis scored 79* runs. For LSG, Amit Mishra took one wicket while Mark Wood grabbed one. In reply, Marcus Stoinis scored 65 runs along with Nicholas Pooran’s blistering 62 runs off 19 balls. 

Thus, LSG defeated the home side on the last ball and won a thriller at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. After the loss against LSG, at the post-match presentation, the RCB skipper, Faf du Plessis said: “They played well through the middle. One ball one run. We backed ourselves to get a run-out. Just looking at the wicket, from 7-14 it was quite slow. In the last five overs it started skidding on. Really good for some good cricketing shots. Stoinis and Pooran played everything off the middle. They took on one of our main bowlers (Harshal) in his first couple of overs”.
