Shoaib Akhtar recently was a part of the Asia Lions that participated in the LLC Masters. However, his team won the tournament and now, his interview has gone viral with Sportsyari. During that interview, he opened up about Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. Both these players have been top batters for their respective countries for a considerable time.

Virat Kohli has 75 international centuries so far across all three formats for team India. So, fans are really eager to see if he can manage to break the record of Sachin Tendulkar scoring 100 international centuries. Regarding the same matter, Akhtar said that Kohli can easily score 110 centuries by the time of his retirement.

Shoaib Akhtar said: “I appeal to Virat to play till the age of 43 years, you have eight or nine years more. India aapko wheelchair mein bhi khilayega and they will make you reach 100-100’s. (India will make you play in a wheelchair also). I feel he will score at least 110 hundreds by the time he retires”.

He further added that Virat Kohli would have found difficulties to score so many centuries if he played in their generation. He said: “If he had played in our times, then he might not have had these 70-odd hundreds, he might have scored 30-50 hundred but those hundreds would have been of a different class. We personally felt that Sunil Gavaskar was the greatest of all, especially when he played the bowlers of the 80s, they were the toughest of the bowlers to face. Gavaskar scored 34-odd hundreds then. Sachin is also great because he faced bowling of our times, with no restrictions for bowlers.”    

In addition, he said that Babar Azam will score more international centuries than Virat Kohli by the end of his career. Currently, compared to Kohli, Babar has 28 international centuries so far. Hearing such a huge statement from the former Pakistan pacer, fans went crazy and slammed him on the social media platform.
