On 17 February 2023, team India took on Australia in the second game of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Delhi. The Men in Blue won the series opener comfortably. But, fans were not happy with the performance of KL Rahul. He scored only 20 runs off 71 balls, including a single boundary.

Before that Test match, former cricketers like Harbhajan Singh and Kapil Dev also claimed that Rahul needs to be dropped for better composition in India’s playing XI. After another disappointing performance in the Nagpur Test, fans also claimed that he should get dropped despite being the vice-captain.

KL Rahul will look to score a big score in this match

However, some reports came out ahead of the Delhi Test that KL Rahul will play in this second Test. Whatever decision is required, will be taken after this match only. Speaking of the match, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. However, India made only one change as Shreyas Iyer came in place of Suryakumar Yadav. So, fans were hoping for a better performance from KL Rahul. However, he did not disappoint his fans while fielding as Rahul came up with a great catch. However, it was his second catch of the match. First, he took the catch of Travis Head at the second slip.

It was a good overhead catch for the star cricketer. Then, in the 46th over, KL Rahul took another great catch while Ravindra Jadeja was bowling. On the fifth delivery of that over, Khawaja managed a reserved sweep. But, Rahul flew to his right to hold on to a one-handed stunner. Seeing such an effort from Rahul, fans went crazy and shared their views on the social media platform. Speaking of the match, in 53 overs, the Aussies managed 188 runs for six wickets. As of now, Ashwin has taken three wickets and Mohammed Shami has taken two wickets. Apart from them, Jadeja has managed one wicket.
