Harry Brook, who is currently playing in the Ashes 2023, talked to the Media after the first day’s play at the Oval, London, the venue for the final Test. Notably, Australia have already retained the Ashes urn after the fourth Test at Manchester had to be called off due to rain after roughly three days of play. Already leading the series 2-1, Australia were in a good position after Day 1’s play to win the final Test and win their first Test series in England since 2001.

Talking to the media after the day’s play a journalist asked him, “Is this the most exhausting experience you’ve had physically and mentally?” In reply, he said, “It’s a good question. It’s probably second. The IPL (Indian Premier League) was pretty tough to be fair. IPL was the toughest competition I've faced both mentally and physically. It has been tough but we obviously had that 10 days, a week or so off. I managed to go on holiday.”

Harry Brook was bought by SRH for a whopping 13.25 crore INR

Harry Brook made his IPL debut in the previous season when SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) bought him for a whopping 13.25 crore INR. However, he failed to justify his price tag as he managed to score just 190 runs in 11 games for SRH. Out of those 190 runs, 100 came in just one innings when he scored a brilliant century against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

In the same interaction with the media, Harry Brook also talked about Moeen Ali, who suffered a groin injury during batting on Day 1. “I don’t think he’s too good at the minute. Hopefully, he can come out there and bowl some overs for us tomorrow, or get some runs in the next innings. He’s been a vital player for us and maybe hasn’t done as well as he would have wanted to. He’s been a very vital player for us in this series, a top player. Hopefully, he’s alright and gets well soon,” Brook told BBC.
